Epoxy...wow. This band and I met under the best circumstances in the world.
Through all of our favorite drink Jagermiester! I was touring with Jager for
a few weeks in early 2003 and in Boston I remember I was tired and sore and
out of no where Fritz dumps jager all over me up in VIP when I was taking a
break. A few days later in North Carolina a drummer (Ted) walks in on me in
the bathroom. (he was more embarrassed than I was) And these were the first
two meetings of Epoxy. Since then
I have had more Jager and beer spilled on me but it was all in fun and no
cameras were harmed so it is all good.
I have had the pleasure of taking pictures of this band (not with new line
up) and hanging out with them. Where ever they go, they are balls to the wall
metal and I love their music. You can check it out on the links above. Because
they are sponsored by Jagermusic you can be assured that at all their shows
there is much alcohol, fun and SWAG being thrown your way. Their live show is
amazing. Ox is a great lead man who, though originally wasn’t the vocalist, grew
into it and dominates it now. (not to mention he throws the best super bowl
parties) Fritz has this nice, gentleman type demeanor if you meet him off the
stage. However, that person is morphed into this outrageous guitarist on stage.
Stone, is guilty of spilling the most alcohol on me during a show, however in
his defense it is because there is not a second that he is on stage that he is
not performing to the greatest of his capacity. So he was jumping around and
knocked a drink or two over on me…it is all good. Chivo, the bassist who holds
that base line together. I have seen him play “flawlessly” even while being so
intoxicated that he could not even stand up on his own. (photo of this is in the
gallery) He is awesome, what can I say. The new Drummer, Rob, I am sorry I
haven’t met him or seen him live. I will I promise! However if he is rolling
with these guys I know he has to kick some serious ass.
Epoxy is a band
that works incredibly hard to be heard. They are by far the best band in the VA
Beach area in their genre. If they weren’t they would regularly be opening for
all kinds of national acts. (Slipknot, Bloodhound Gang, Saliva, Breaking
Benjamin, Drowning Pool and Slayer….just to name a few) Their resume speaks for
itself and now they just need to break the barrier and go national! Go to their
web sites buy their music and merch and support one of my favorite “soon to be
signed” bands!
